Budapest

So, arrived in Budapest from Novi Sad, Serbia. Ticket cost 12 €. I arrived in the early morning and went to our hostel. There I watched some lame ass parody, don´t remember the end cos I fell asleep. Did some other things in the hostel cos I didn´t want to go out without Liisa because when she would arrive I would have to re-see those places again. Nah.. Finally Liisa arrived (!!) and I went to pick her up from the train station :) Dropped her bag and went to eat in some asian-ish place.

LOOOOOL! Saw balloon making and we went to take some pictures. Liisa captured this picture. Well actually she made a moving picture, just like in Harry Potter, where that kid is falling. The picture is funny but with the Harry Potter effect is even funnier xD

Wtf is Hungarian language. Yeah it´s one member of the Finno-Hungarian language family where Estonian belongs also but wtf

We stayed in 2 hostels. One was called 11th Movie Hostel and it was themed in movies. Sah cool

Another hostel was Your mom´s hostel. We just had to go there

And that was the locker in the hostel, I could fit all belongings to there 

Met one British bloke in the hostel and talked bullsh*t with him. He called us farmers for some reason

Near our first hostel was a park and we went there. There was one rabbit statue somethingsomething and ofc I climbed on it and demanded Liisa to take a picture of me

St. Stephen´s Basilica. The church is named in honour of Stephen, the first king of Hungary (975-1038.) Now it is the 3rd largest church building in Hungary

Completed in 1905. Length 87,4 m, width 55 m, max height 96 m

Went up. I had to buy the adult price, Liisa could buy the student ticket. I think I had to pay 800 hun (2,6 €) and Liisa 400 hun. We had 20 minutes until closing and see around up there. We ran up but actually we had plenty of time to take millions of pictures there

Szechenyi chain bridge, suspension bridge that spans the Danube river between Buda and Pest. Was opened in 1849

375 m long, 14,8 m wide, building started in 1840 and was opened in 1849

Buda is the former capital of the Kingdom on Hungary. Buda comprises about 1/3 of Budapest´s territory, has lot of wood

Turul bird, mythological bird of prey, national symbol of modern Hungary. You can find those birds all over Hungary in different sizes. The Turul is used as in the design of coats of arms of the Hungarian Army and other places (Fun fact, 'turul' means in Estonian 'on the market')

'Best' across the river. Also, it is really hard to get lost in Budapest cos all the streets lead you towards the center

Mattias church. It was the second largest church in medieval Buda and the 7th largest church of the medieval Hungarian Kingdom

Is the historical castle and palace complex of the Hungarian kings in Budapest and was completed in 1265. Was built on the southern tip of Castle Hill, bounded on the north by what is known as the Castle district. The castle is a part of the Budapest World Heritage Site, which was declared a Heritage Site in 1987

The citadella. The fortress is a U-shaped structure built in 1851 (finished in 1854) 220 m long, 60 m wide, 4 m tall. This was the closest we got there, didn´t have the power to go up there

Went out one time. Other times we were tired.. :D Went to Szimpla Kert, a bar where everybody warms up, has couple drinks and after goes to clubs. Super cool place where every room has different decoration

I saw that guy dressed in awesome costume and I went talking to him like wtf iz diz. He told he is Vicky from Little Britain and ofc I needed picture with Vicky xD

Went to House of Terror, a museum, monument to the memory of those held captive, tortured and killed in this building

That hall shows the period when the peasantry was forced to hand over a fixed quota of its surplus agriculture produce and livestock to state organs at fixed prices. White walls symbolizes under the counter slaughters

T-54 tank where on the background are victims of Hungarian communism. The tank was in oil or in some liquid and the liquid was dripping down

Then we went to Hungarian National Museum. Founded in 1802, national museum of history, art and archaeology. I think I got in with 400 huf aka 1.3 €, student price.

Hösök tere aka heroes square. (Tere means hello in Estonian, so we do have something in common :) )

The square has played an important part in contemporary Hungarian history and has been a host to many political events (such as the reburial of Imre Nagy in 1989 (Hungaria communist politician who was executed on charges of treason) 

The heroes square is located in a city park and in the park was also Vajdahunyad Castle, this is the entrance

Behind is Museum of Hungarian Agriculture

Timewheel. It is mede of granite, steel and glass, weighs 60 tons. When me and Liisa were there we didn´t understand how it should be a clock at all. Now I read that it is a calender,  the sand flows all year to the other side and on New Year´s Eve it is turned 180 degrees so it could start again. The turning is is done manually and it takes about 45 minutes for 4 people to complete the half turn. It is to commemorate joining EU (asIunderstood)

After Budapest I decided to go to Vienna. Was thinking about Vienna or Bratislava or Slovenia or whatever. Basically I was choosing between Bratislava and Vienna. From Budapest I took a metro and a bus to go out of Budapest and from there I hitchhiked to Vienna. (Liisa went back to Chech) Aghh, it was so hard. Like there was a highway and I bloody hate highways from that day forward (highway as autobahn where the speed limit is not 110 km/h like in Est in the summer). I was walking forth and back and it took soo long time.. Came back to the place where bus dropped me off and was looking for a place where would be not THE worst place to hitchhike. I was standing next to McDonald´s, in a really lousy place.. Waited long time until one guy picked me up. He didn´t speak english, but he was a hunter, this I understood :D Then he dropped me, stood a little while next to highway where lots of cars were honking at me.. Yeah I know I shouldn´t be here, but I am so f*ck you. One truck stopped and I was driving with him quite long time. He was from Romania and he asked me if I am not afraid to hitchhike alone because I am a girl. No, because I like to think the best of people. I don´t care if I am a girl, I can and will do the same things as guys. Does not matter what´s my sex... Anyway, he dropped me kinda close to Vienna but still not so close. I had to hitchhike a bit more. Still on the highway, with lots of honking.. One car stopped really quickly and I was so happy about it. We were discussing about hitchhiking and he also told, people talk about the bad sides of hitch-hiking but most of it is good
