Belgrade

I made Diona hitchhike with me from Novi Sad to Belgrade. Walked 40 minutes and then put our thumbs up, 1st ride we got pretty fast. Driver was cool, he was talking the whole way but we didn´t understand anything :D When we got out the guy on the passenger seat wished a safe travels and may god bless you. Dzii, wanted to wash myself like old Estonians did when they were baptised to be unbaptised. Don´t give me evils
Got out next to a gas station and there we had to wait about 20 minutes. The guys who picked us up spoke albanian and Diona understood them, I was just there, chilling, minding my own business. They insisted having a coffee in Pancevo so somehow we agreed.. I don´t trust anyone so I was suspicious what are their plans and what do they want from us -.- But we just had tea/coffee and they took us to a bus staion. Bus cost about an € cos we were pretty close to Belgrade

Hah sad usa
Finally we arrived to Belgrade and started to walk to the hostel. On our way we saw randomly Asdren and Amalia who came from the hostel. We all went back to drop my things and went sightseeing. Also, we met Katarina and Efe randomly on the street later that day. Seems like Belgrade is small but it isn´t :D
Put it. Putin is really a thing there
On our way to the castle were dinosaurs aswell, how cool is that
Castle on a hill. Kinda. Stambol gate

Kalemegdan aka Belgrade fortress. Most visited tourist attraction in Beograde

(Googled "Belgrade naked man" and didn´t see anything inappropriate - win!) Pobednik in Serbian, Victor in English. Monument commemorates Serbia´s victory over Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Empire during the Balkan wars and WWI. 14 m high, erected in 1928. On his left hand he is holding a falcon and on the right a sword. Before is was in the center but locals were disgusted by the nakedness and it was moved further
Castle from below
Went walking by the river
In Republic Square. Christmas is all year round in Belgrade
Christmas decorations are a cherry on the cake
Behind is a National museum. It is closed because it has been under reconstruction for more than 10 years and government does not put money into culture. In front is a statue of Prince Mihailo. I learned that when a person is sitting on a horse and all the legs of the horse are on the ground, person died peacefully. When one leg is up, he was assasinated. When 2 front legs are up, he died in a battle. It´s so interesting fact and I had no idea about it. Guess it must be because in Estonia are no statues of people sitting on horses (as I know)
We were looking for a place to eat. Finally we ended up in a snack bar.. Food was tolerable, I wanted real food but whateva
In Skadarlija, hipster, urban, bohemian area. Similar to Paris´ Montmartre. Second most visited tourist attraction in Belgrade after Kalemegdan

Went on a Free walking tour when others left me in Belgrade couple days later (I put that pic here because then it´s all together, all united). That dude is Đura Jakšić, he was an artist, poet, painter, writer. And ofc drank a lot to get inspiration. Some deal was with him but heyy who remembers.. (Ega pea pole prügikast ;) )

"Just do it" in Cyrillic. Lots of the writing was in Cyrillic and I was able to practice my reading. Took some time but I understood some things
6€ for a vodka, pretty good
Went out to party. First we tried to go in a gay bar, but that cost something so we decided not to go there. Probably the entrance fee wasn´t so much because it´s Serbia. We joined Katarina and Eleni and went out
At some point we saw this
Wanted to take picture of the view
Then this happened
And this

People just left their phones on the bar table, like they were next to it but still. Serbia is a safe country. Before when I went there I asked some people if I should go and they said no. It is dangerous ect. It wasn´t at all.
In the clubs you can smoke and fuck it was so disgusting. I could not breathe and my eyes were running. Horrible.. And you smell like smoke after clubbing.. Do not recommend
Belgrade Waterfront whatever that building is but it looked nice during the night
Hostel. That cost a bit more that 4€. The cheapest hostel I have ever stayed in. So far. I ended up staying there longer because I did not know where to go next..
View from the window, across the street was a botanical garden
That happened quite a lot that there was noone in the reception, if you want something call or e-mail them
Masterchef. Bought soup and poored hot water on it (Y)

Lots of buildings were dirty, they used to be white but now they are black because of the car fumes
Coat of dust, dzii

Bajarakli mosque, built around 1575, the only mosque in the city out of the 273 what existed during the Ottoman Empire´s rule of Serbia. During the occupation of Serbia by Austrians between 1717 and 1739 it was converted into a Roman Catholic. After the Ottomans retook Belgrade, it was returned to its original function
St. Michael´s Cathedral
Next to it was the oldest kafana in Belgrade (almost 200 years old), its name is "?". Owned wanted to change its name from Shepard´s to Sabornas Church but church people did not like to see church´ name in the name of kafana. Owned didn´t know what to put so he just wrote "?" temporarily. People loved the new name so he kept it
On that day I went to Museum of Yugoslav History. Walked uphill, walked quite long with warm weather. Didn´t want to take a bus there cos buses are lame
Back there you can see church of Saint Sava
Next the the park entrance was this art piece

Back there on the right you can see the museum house
And view from there. Went there and I knew it is closed on Mondays. But. I didn´t know it was Monday, lol. Next day I took a bus there cos I didn´t want to walk on the same road again and it was really hot. The museum was open this time. I told I was a student but forgot my student card, he belived me at the end. Ticket cost 200 din for a student as I remember.

I went to that museum because I wanted to know more about Jugoslavia and its breakup but in that museum they mostly talked about Tito, first President of Yugoslavia. That all used to be Yugoslavia
This painting shows where Tito was arrested in 1928 - Ico Polovic
There was like 3 museums all together. One was House of Flowers where Tito is buried
There he is. Also his wife is buried there

One of my last days I was roaming around the city, in places I had not been when suddenly came across to this place. Then I remembered we were here when we went out
And I was climbing on those stones lol
Went to New-Belgrade and there was a man with 2 cats, one on the roof and one next to him. Sah luvely
